What You Can Expect

Explore the Palm Grove of Marrakech while on your camel ride Climb aboard a camel for an unforgettable ride into the open skies and rugged landscape of the Moroccan desert near Marrakech. During your ride you’ll enjoy fantastic scenery and good old-fashioned hospitality as you stop by the house of a local family for tea and a snack. Start your trip with pickup from your Marrakech hotel or riad, leaving at either 9am (for the morning tour) or 2pm (for the afternoon option), traveling by minivan to the base where you’ll start your camel adventure. Listen to a short introductory safety briefing on camel riding, and don your included cheich (a scarf designed to protect you from the sun) then climb onto your camel and head into the desert.  Follow your guide in the typical caravan formation, making sure to let them know if you are uncomfortable or need to take a break. As you ride you’ll pass through the incredible terrain of the North African desert, admiring palm tree groves and journeying past a traditional Berber village, where you’ll meet some of the locals learn about their daily rituals. At the half-way point of your camel adventure, take a break at the home of a friendly family, where you’ll enjoy some desert hospitality accompanied by tea and a snack of warm pancakes. It’s a great opportunity to try Moroccan mint tea, considered one of the country’s most popular drinks.  Then say goodbye to your new friends and continue on your camel ride, enjoying more superlative views as you head back to your starting point. Finish your day with a drop-off back at your Marrakech hotel or riad.
